Iwona Włodarska

Iwona Włodarska is a staff member at the Centre for Human Genetics at the University Hospital Gasthuisberg of the Catholic University of Leuven. Her research is focused on cytogenetic and molecular mechanisms underlying lymphomagenesis. She has published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers and contributed to the identification of novel anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements in lymphoma. She is a member of the European Hematology Association (EHA) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH). Previously, Dr Wlodarska worked at the Institute of Oncology in Warsaw and moved to Leuven in 1989. She obtained her PhD from the Institute of Experimental Immunology at the Polish Academy of Science in Wroclaw.
