Prof Morrissey‘s research is focused on enzymology, membrane biology, and protein Structure. He has published numerous peer reviewed articles and has served the editorial boards of many journals including Journal of Clinical Investigation.
He is a Member of the ISTH Publications Committee, Co-Chair, ISTH/SSC Subcommittee on Factor XI and the Contact System, Vice-chair (with Jorge DiPaola) of the Gordon Research Conference and Seminar on Hemostasis, and Chair (with Jorge DiPaola), Gordon Research Conference and Seminar on Hemostasis. He is affiliated to several societies including ASH, ISTH, ASMBM and ACS.
He has received numerous awards, most recently the 011: Biennial Investigator Recognition Award for Contributions to Haemostasis (awarded in Kyoto, Japan, at the XXIIIrd Congress of the International Society on Thrombosis & Haemostasis, 2011) and the Sol Sherry Distinguished Lecture in Thrombosis (presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions, Dallas, TX, 2013).
