    An Introduction to Stomach Cancer

Gastric cancer is a major cause of death since most cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage when the prognosis is poor and treatment options limited. However, advances in molecular profiling have facilitated the development of targeted therapies. Alongside therapies targeting HER2, immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting PD-1/PD-L have been introduced. Combined approaches involving palliative surgery, radiation therapy, intraperitoneal chemotherapy seem promising in the management of metastatic disease.
