    Dr Domenica Lorusso

    Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A Gemelli, Rome, Italy

    Dr Domenica Lorusso, MD, PhD, is associate professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A Gemelli in Rome. She obtained her medical degree from the Catholic University of Rome in 1995 and her PhD in obstetrics and gynaecology from the University of Parma in 2003. read more

    Dr Lorusso has been involved in gynaecological oncology research for more than 25 years and has conducted or participated in approximately 200 phase I to IV clinical trials in gynaecological malignancies. At present, she is a principal investigator of more than 60 studies.

    Dr Lorusso is responsible for the Clinical Trials Committee of the Multicenter Italian Trials in Ovarian cancer and gynecologic malignancies group (MITO), which includes more than 150 Italian centres involved in gynaecological oncology research. She is a member of the board of directors of the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup, which includes 23 international research groups involved in the promotion and conduction of high-quality clinical trials to improve outcomes for women with gynaecological cancers. She is also an active member of the European Network of Gynaecological Oncological Trial groups (ENGOT), an international organization that coordinates and promotes clinical trials within Europe for patients with gynaecological cancers, where she chairs the Gynaecological Cancer Academy.

    Dr Lorusso has co-authored approximately 300 international oncology publications and is the author of national and international guidelines on the treatment of ovarian, cervical and endometrial cancers.

    Dr Susana Banerjee

    The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK

    Dr Susana Banerjee, MBBS, MA, PhD, FRCP, is a consultant medical oncologist and research lead for the Gynaecology Unit at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. She is also reader in women’s cancers at the Institute of Cancer Research. Dr Banerjee specializes in ovarian cancer and the systemic treatment of endometrial and cervical cancers. read more

    Dr Banerjee completed her medical training in 2000 at The Royal Free/University College London Medical School, where she was a University of London Gold Medal finalist. She gained a PhD from The Institute of Cancer Research, University of London and was awarded the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium Novartis Oncology Basic Science Award for her research.

    Dr Banerjee has served in international specialist groups, including the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Executive Steering Committee for Gynaecological Cancers, European Society of Gynaecological Oncology Congress Faculty and International Gynecologic Cancer Society Scientific Program Committee. She was elected to the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) Executive Board as director of membership (2020–2022) and chairs the ESMO Resilience Task Force. She is also currently co-chair of the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup Rare Cancers Committee and theme lead (Cancer Treatment Effects) for the National Institute for Health and Care Research Biomedical Research Centre at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research.

    Dr Banerjee is an author of over 170 peer-reviewed publications, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Oncology and Journal of Clinical Oncology. Her research interests include individualization of patient treatment, targeted therapies (including PARP inhibitors) and rare gynaecological cancers.

    Prof. Frederik Marmé

    Prof. Frederik Marmé is professor of obstetrics and gynaecology for the Medical Faculty of Mannheim at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. He is also the head of the Clinical Trials Unit at the Department of Gynaecologic Oncology of the University Hospital Mannheim. read more

    Prof. Marmé is actively involved in clinical research, having served as the principal investigator for over 35 studies and as a co-principal investigator on nearly 50 others since 2004. His research interests include translational research, predictive and prognostic biomarkers, molecular profiling, and immunotherapies in breast and ovarian cancer. He has co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles.

    He is an elected member of the German Breast Group (GBG) and the executive board of the AGO Study Group, and an AGO Study Group representative for the European Network of Gynaecological Oncological Trial groups (ENGOT) Early Drug Development Group. He serves as a member of the faculty of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and is an associate editor of Cancer Investigation. He also belongs to several clinical and scientific societies, including ESMO, the German Society of Hematology & Medical Oncology (DGHO), the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) and the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG).
