François Dreyfus
François Dreyfus is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Paris Descartes–Paris V and Head of the Haematology Unit at Hospital Cochin in Paris, which is recognised as a centre of excellence by the Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation. His major research interests include epidemiology and pathogenesis, particularly the mechanisms of apoptosis in myelodysplastic syndrome. His work, particularly on myelodysplastic syndrome, is recognised internationally. Professor Dreyfus is a member of the Societé Française Hématologie and Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation and Vice President of the Groupe Francophone des Myelodysplasies (GFM). Professor Dreyfus is the author or co-author of more than 160 papers published in peer-reviewed journals including Blood, the British Journal of Haematology, Haematologica, the Journal of Clinical Oncology and Leukaemia Research. He studied medicine at the University of Diderot–Paris VII and received his MD from the University of Paris Descartes–Paris V. He began specialist training in haematology in 1992.
