Thomas Bachelot is head of the Breast Cancer Unit and the Clinical Trial Unit at the Centre Léon Bérard in Lyon, France. He has designed several clinical trials in metastatic breast cancer, is heavily involved in the UNICANCER Collaborative Research Group, has been head of the National Breast Cancer Group since May 2019, and is a board member of the GINECO Cooperative Group. Dr Bachelot has also authored >200 peer-reviewed publications in the field.

    Trastuzumab deruxtecan shows clinical benefit in patients with HER2-ultralow metastatic breast cancer

    he DESTINY-Breast06 (DB-06) trial explored the effectiveness of trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) in patients with hormone receptor-positive (HR+), HER2-low or HER2-ultralow metastatic breast cancer (mBC). Patients were screened for HER2 status and randomized to receive either T-DXd or treatment of the physician's choice (TPC). Results showed that T-DXd significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) compared to TPC, across various HER2 classifications.
