We are delighted to announce Dr Rahat Ul Ain as a touchONCOLOGY Future Leader 2026, selected as a rising star poised to shape the future of CNS tumours, Hodgkin lymphoma and immunodeficiency-associated cancers.

Dr Rahat Ul Ain is a pediatric neuro-oncologist and Associate Professor at The Children’s Hospital Lahore and the University of Child Health Sciences Lahore, Pakistan. She completed a Pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship at St Jude Global Academy, TN, USA, and is the first, and currently the only, qualified pediatric neuro-oncologist in Punjab. She is actively involved in research, training and capacity-building. She has authored 25+ publications, presented widely at international conferences and serves on editorial boards and national oncology committees. Her clinical interests include CNS tumors, Hodgkin lymphoma and immunodeficiency-associated cancers.

Q: Can you tell us about a mentor who significantly impacted your career, and the most valuable lesson they have shared with you?

Dr Ibrahim Qaddoumi, and the most valuable lesson he shared with me was: “Just stay persistent and resilient in your journey of aim, and don’t expect quick results.”

Q: What aspects of your work do you find the most fulfilling?

What I find most fulfilling is being able to help decrease the suffering of someone and receiving gestures of love from the patients and respect from their parents.

Q: What advice would you offer to those just beginning their journey in your specialty?

Aim for excellence in whatever you do.
