touchONCOLOGY had the privilege of meeting Ian Banks, Board Member of the European CanCer Organisation (ECCO) at the ECCO 2019 European Cancer Summit in Brussels, to discuss the role of primary care in cancer.

Questions
1. Is the quality of primary care an issue across all cancer types or are some cancers more problematic? (0:08)
2. What aspects of cancer care are not being met for many patients and in what areas do they need to improve? (1:18)
3. Are deficiencies in primary cancer care quality a worldwide issue, or are they confined to particular regions, populations or demographic groups? (2:15)
4. An ECCO expert panel has recently published checklists on essential requirements for quality in primary care of cancer. In general, what are the recommendations and are they likely to improve care quality and patient outcomes? (3:21)
