It was a pleasure to meet Professor Mehmet Ungan from WONCA Europe at the ECCO 2019 European Cancer Summit in Brussels to discuss the role of primary care in cancer.

Questions
1. Do all the different healthcare providers (HCPs) involved in cancer care generally work together to provide a coordinated and systematic approach to individual patient management? (0:08)
2. If HCPs fail to coordinate their roles, what are the consequences of the management of patients with cancer? (1:10)
3. ECCO has recently published proposals/checklists for improving the quality of primary cancer care; how will these increase the likelihood of providing the highest possible standard of coordinated care in every case? (1:51)
4. If implemented, how would the ECCO proposals change or enhance the roles of primary caregivers (e.g. general practitioners), cancer specialists, community pharmacists, carers, etc.? (2:32)

Mehmet Ungan has no conflicts of interest to declare in relation to this video.

Filmed in partnership with the European CanCer Organisation at the ECCO 2019 European Cancer Summit in Brussels, Belgium.
